Privacy policy

The short version
eCarSounds has no accounts. Your location is used only inside your browser to work out your speed, and it is never sent to us. We use anonymous analytics only if you say Yes.
Location
The site asks your browser for your location so the engine sound can follow your speed. The location is processed on your device and is not uploaded, stored on a server or shared.
Data stored on your device
- Your settings (volume, car, units) and your choice about analytics, in your browser's local storage.
- A random device ID, used only to tell your devices apart.
Analytics and cookies
When you first visit, we ask whether we may use analytics. If you choose No, the analytics script is never loaded. If you choose Yes, we load Vercel Web Analytics, which gives us anonymous page-view statistics (for example which pages are opened and roughly what device and country). It also counts, anonymously, which cars are picked, how many minutes the engine runs in each car, and when the free time for the day runs out. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
Payments
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel keeps technical server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operation.
Your rights
Because we do not keep a profile about you, there is usually nothing to look up. You can clear the data above at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. There is no account to delete and no inbox to write to: nothing leaves your browser.
Children
eCarSounds is intended for drivers and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
